JOURNEY

My backpacked is packed
we’re heading to the airport, and matter of fact
i can’t wait to leave this old city behind
it’s a pity that it has to look gritty at times
at the moment, i’m holding a ticket in my hand
i can hear the last call, first stop nepal
you only get one chance, you do what you have to do
and thats why now, we’re trippin’ up in Kathmandu
this adventure, could have got a better start
I get tetanus, and Po loses his credit card

we take a bus to the annapurna region
and trek in the himalayas, ‘n we get tired thus
we choose to chill in the village, Pokhara is
a good place to relax and smoke charras
meet hare krishnas, religious fanatics
who claim they don’t believe in science or mathematics
“dude this trip was worth the wait”
and Po is so stoned he thinks that I started this earthquake

make our escape, head south down to India
love the place, but Varanasi I’m not that into ya
too afraid to face mother natures fury
so we trade Darjeeling for spaceships in Puri
we grab a flight and fly straight over to Bangkok
where the weather is better, but man its still damn hot

over the seas, down through the valleys
far away, into the night, I’m singing ‘bout the
people we met, and the stories we share
under the stars, we reunite

Already quite spent
and I feel like a zombie when, we hit fear and loathing in Vang Vieng
go into a bar, grab a beer, go back out
go back in, to grab a shot of gin, I black out
suddenly we’re outside, in the street walking
trying to talk, while these dogs won’t stop barking
flash! I’m sitting in a bar getting smashed

with a beer in my right hand, a joint in my left
lying in a bed, staring at the ceiling, huh
what am I seeing? stars start appearing
wait a minute, if I think about this rationally
am I lying flat on my back on the balcony?

some girl says “come back inside, stop being funny”
I say: “we can’t stop here, this is mosquito country!”
the next day we decide,
to leave this crazy place behind, and
go somewhere where we can rewind so

over the seas, down through the valleys
far away, into the night, I’m singing ‘bout the
people we met, and the stories we share
under the stars, we reunite
