DRIFTERS' COLLECTIVE

ALTERNATIVE HIP HOP BAND

ANY DAY NOW

I sit at the office, make my boss profit
create another skeleton, take it to the closet
you see this evil company has taken me hostage
its set to climb the ladder ye no matter what the cost is
and my boss he is a devious man
you see I really don’t agree with his ingenious plan
and what I mean is to defeat his enemies he demands
we do anything we can for this hideous brand
and though he is the one who's always making the call
i’ll really be the silly dummy who’ll be taking the fall
it ain't fair ‘n don’t care if I am breaking the law

no I can’t take it anymore, I’m set on breaking his jaw
he’s a monster, won’t somebody put an end to his reign
he’s full of shit just put a bullet through his brain
I’ll abide my time, and wait til I get a chance to advance on ‘em
and get my hands on ‘em...

Feels like I’m stuck here everyday, ain't no rest
and I got a lot of bills that I gotta pay, I’m so damn tired
and these things, they don’t seem to change, I’m fed up
and I got a lot of things that I’d like to say, just not today

So I'm up all night and I'm working till my back hurts,
ain't nobody gonna cut me any slack cuz
we’re understaffed, the whole place is jammed,
and I'm trying to keep up with a pace that's mad,
I spot my boss and while he’s walking over,
I can see it in his face, yeah he's not really sober
He knocks on my shoulder, and truth be told
doesn’t the same old storyline ever get old?
short man syndrome, drinks too much,
and when he's drunk he thinks his though
trying to make up for that lack of confidence,
he slaps my hat off in an act violence,
I'm backing out, but he's acting rowdy,
screaming in my face while the place is crowded,
And I'm like ummm, I don't know what to do,
man, fuck this job and fuck him too.

Feels like I’m stuck here everyday, ain't no rest
and I got a lot of bills that I gotta pay, I’m so damn tired
and these things, they don’t seem to change, I’m fed up
and I got a lot of things that I’d like to say, just not today

Finally he’s here, he walks into the room
not a second more, will I dance to his tune
this will be the day, not a moment too soon
I’ll tell him to his face, click boom
now I’m really gonna put him in his place
tell him I don’t ever wanna, hear another word
about me fucking up, I gotta, stand up ‘n
put him out of his misery, then the job is done and I'm free
and now I’m gonna put him in his place
tell him I don’t ever wanna, hear another word
about me fucking up, I gotta, stand up 'n
put him out of his misery, then the jobs done I'm free
but when I try to speak, my voice gets weak,
I can't even be heard over the noise from the street.
I try to get up on my feet, but I'm glued to the seat,
he walks out of the room ‘n says “see you next week”

Feels like I’m stuck here everyday, ain't no rest
and I got a lot of bills that I gotta pay, I’m so damn tired
and these things, they don’t seem to change, I’m fed up
and I got a lot of things that I’d like to say, just not today
